Camp Whitman’s 2010 Christian Summer Camps

For campers entering the 9th – 12th grades

Regatta PhotoWaterfront Recreation Camp

Experience all that the waterfront has to offer! Paddle canoes and kayaks, learn to sail a sunfish, ride along in a sloop, and ride the banana boat twice! Stay wet on land with water balloons and other wet relays. Dry off at night around the campfire.

Wilderness Survival Camp

Can you survive a week in the wilderness? We’ll teach you how! By the end of the week, you’ll have mastered some outdoor survival skills and tricks like building one-match fires, cooking outdoors and navigating trails in the dark. We will also sleep out under the stars or sway by the moonlight in hammocks. We’ll do it all without destroying the wilderness we have come to enjoy.

Extreme Whitman Camp

Experience some of our most popular camps all in one week! Spend the week sailing, kayaking, canoeing and hiking. We will also take on Whitman low ropes course challenges and travel to a local high ropes course. Evening activities will include field sports and banana boating and time spent with friends around the campfire.

Water Ski Extravaganza Camp

Learn to water ski! An experienced water skier will teach you the basics and help you practice. While your fellow campers are skiing, you can ride the motor boat and learn from your friends’ skiing or learn to kayak along the shores nearby. Come join the fun; it’ll be a splash!

Voyager Sailing Camp

Learn to sail and then travel to sites across Seneca Lake. Learn to rig, steer, control the sail, and of course, upright a capsized boat. Trips may include sailing across the lake to Lodi State Park for a cookout, to the cliffs for exploring and to another camp for an overnight under the stars with a return sail in the morning. Come sail away!

Summer Shalom Camp

How do you center yourself? Here is a camp to help you create healthy personal spiritual practices. We will listen to music, paint & draw, hike, canoe, hang out with friends, take time to talk over thoughts, ideas and have quiet times for reflection. Positive spiritual practices encourage us to use our gifts for God’s work in the world through a supportive community of faith. Throughout the week we will also enjoy typical camp activities such as boating, cookouts, sleep outs and swimming.

Nite Owl Camp

Are you a senior high camper who grumbles when your counselor wakes you up at 7:00 a.m.? Would you rather enjoy Camp Whitman on your schedule? In Nite Owl Camp we will be doing just that; we will wake up late and stay up late, enjoy lunch as our first meal and munch on late night cookouts or snacks. We will enjoy long campfires, midnight hikes, flashlight tag, Glow-in-the-Dark Ultimate Frisbee and a movie night.

Music & Drama Arts CampMusic & Drama Arts Camp

Do you like to dance, sing, play instruments, act, create costumes, and/or develop sets? Come join us for a fun filled week in a relaxed atmosphere as we put together a musical production to be performed for family, friends and fellow campers on Friday, the last day of camp. Bring your talents, your instruments and your enthusiasm! All participants should be ready for an exciting week filled with lots of fun and fellowship.
