Mission Statement

Camp Whitman on Seneca Lake lives for those who are longing for belonging, seeking connection with community and creation, respite from chaos and competition, and an opportunity to encounter both the Holy and themselves.


Inclusion Statement

Camp Whitman strives to include people with diverse interests, backgrounds, and abilities in all of our programs. Acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone. Individuals of all faiths, races, sexual orientations, creeds, gender expressions or gender identities are welcome and encouraged to attend. 


Religious Affiliation

Camp Whitman on Seneca Lake is owned and operated by the Presbytery of Geneva, in operates in partnership with the Presbytery of Genesee Valley.   

Campers attend a kid-friendly camp worship service twice each week, and receive a morning message each day. Prayer, reflection and the singing of songs is part of our program. Our aim is to teach positive values and lessons while living in community with one another. Our programming is not aimed at “converting” participants to the Presbyterian denomination or Christianity. Campers are not required to be Presbyterian. We meet each camper wherever they are in their personal faith journey, and provide a fun, safe place to learn about themselves and one another. 


Membership Affiliations & Licensing

Camp Whitman is a member of the Presbyterian Church Camp and Conference Association (PCCCA).  

Camp Whitman is required to be licensed by the New York State Department of Health, and to be inspected twice yearly. The inspection reports are filed at the Presbytery of Geneva, 2472 State Route 54A, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
