For more than 35 years Camp Whitman has been providing overnight camp or “vacation” weeks for youth adults with developmental disabilities. Many of our campers have been attending Camp Whitman year after year, and widely share that their week at camp is the highlight of their year. Some campers have been returning for more than 20 years!
Our "Pine Camp” program, as it is affectionately referred to, mirrors our Traditional Camp in every way. In fact, one of the aspects that makes Camp Whitman so unique, is that our campers live in a shared community. While our Traditional and Pine Campers live in different units at camp, they join together for meal times, worship, and evening programs.
All of our popular camp activities are offered to our campers with developmental disabilities, and accommodations are made where needed to provide additional support.
